Year 2001 coincided with the 50th anniversary of JAL, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Walt Disney and the opening of the Tokyo DisneySea Park. For the Disney celebrations JAL painted no less than 6 747 in what is known as the second batch of Dream Express liveries (the 1994/95 schemes being the first one). Five different designs featured many Disney characters. This first livery with a basic white fuselage and a muscial rainbow symbolized friendship and was called Friends. This first scheme was unveiled in February 2001.
