Indian Airlines was founded in 1953 and merged with Air India in 2011. In 2003 it celebrated its 50th anniversary. Note the titles were in English on the on the port side and in Hindi titles on the starboard side. Indian Airlines was the only A320 customer to take delivery of double-boggie main gear due to runway restrictions at some Indian airports. Alliance Air was the subsidiary of the group flying the low density routes.
