Aviacsa was established on May 5, 1990, as a flag carrier airline by the government of the Mexican state of Chiapas. The first flight occured on September 20, 1990 onboard a BAe-146 and soon the airline expanded its network to the rest of Mexico and the US. In 2005 it celebrated its 15th anniversary with this colourful scheme. The titles were updated to 16 in 2006.
