Moomins are the central characters in a series of books and a comic strip by Swedish-speaking Finnish illustrator and writer Tove Jansson. These characters are popular in Japan hence the choice of widebodies. After a first batch of aircraft between 1995 & 1999, Finnair applied two new & different sets of Moomins decals to this aircraft and OH-LGF. Santa stickers replaced Moomins in Winter 2006 and the characters were finally back in 2008, yet with slightly different colors shades. An A340 had the same decals applied in 2008.
