The second Hello Kitty scheme for Eva Air was unveiled in Taipei on October 20, 2006. The two sides of the fuselage showed large decals of different characters of Japanese company Sanrioand including the very popular Hello Kitty. Interior fittings and features onboard this specific aircraft were also modified accordingly. The plane was used primarily on routes to Japan, but later also flew a wider range of Asian routes. The concept was successful but the partnership came to an end in 2009. These special liveries were revived in 2011 with a second batch of no less than 7 Hello Kitty-themed planes.
