Unveiled on November 16, 1975. The partnership between Braniff & Alexander Calder continued with a second project to celebrate the US bicentennial in 1976. This aircraft was painted by Calder himself with both sides being unique. His signature was on the port side near the cockpit windows, and he painted a snake on engine no.1. Interestingly this particular aircraft had trim issues and was often unreliable, which led to her been nicknamed the "Sneaky Snake" by pilots. A third aircraft, a 727, was to be painted by Calder in the "Flying Colors of Mexico" theme but he died in 1976 before it could materialize.
