The 6th Air Guilin special livery is the result of a partnership with the Guilin Agricultural and Rural Bureau and Monk Fruit Corp which produces the locally grown monkfruit or luohan guo. The plant is cultivated for its fruit extract, called mogrosides, which creates a sweetness sensation 250 times stronger than sucrose; it is also used in traditional Chinese medicine. Other graphic elements refert to the karst mountain scenery of the Guilin area.
The special livery was kept after the airline left the HNA Group.

The first image shows the aircraft after the airline left the HNA Group and introduced a standalone brand identity.

This special livery depicted Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbolic landscape of Guilin, with the city’s slogan on a seal character. Note this aircraft already had a Guilin special livery when in service with Capital Airlines.
Air Guilin was originally a joint venture between the Guilin Municipal Government and the HNA Group (initial plans called for the airline to be named Guangxi Airlines, however another HNA local joint-venture was formed in Guangxi capital Nanning as GX Airlines, see separately). The airline began operations in June 2016 using Airbus A319 aircraft. It intends to boost the tourism industry in Guilin.
