Poppy Appeal 2003

#5

The Royal British Legion
G-BOAF
2003*

The Royal British Legion is a British charity providing financial, social and emotional support to members of the British Armed Forces, veterans and their dependants. The poppy is their logo, as WWI created prime conditions for poppies to flourish in battlefields in Flanders and north-west France. The flower became the symbol of remembrance when Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae wrote the In Flanders Fields poem, which was widely shared in the English-speaking world. The decals were applied in time to commemorate Remembrance Day on November 11th which marked the end of World War I in 1918. The 2003 "Poppy Appeal" video campaign was recorded in Heathrow with a decal added to G-BOAF just days after the last flight of the type.

Pepsi

F-BTSD
1996

In April 1996 Pepsi teamed up with Air France for part of its "Project Blue" marketing campaign which saw a new -mostly blue- can released. The Concorde remained in this livery just a few days and visited a bunch of airports around Europe & the Middle East for press events. Note the wings also sported large Pepsi titles.
