Air VIA was the very first private airline in Bulgaria when it started operations in 1990; VIA stood for Varna International Airways and the airline's fleet of Tu-154M catered to the charter market from Western Europe to the Black Sea resorts of Burgas & Varna for many years. The two A320 it operated in 2015 (LZ-MDA & LZ-MDR) gained gold titles to celebrate its anniversary. In late 2016 the original Air VIA would end operations and re-appear as VIA Airways in early 2017, now trading as Fly2Sky.
