Orange Pride

PH-BVA
KLM
2016-

In this special livery the well-known KLM blue is combined with the Netherlands' national colour orange. The transition between the two colours features aspects of the Dutch flag, emphasising the roots and pride of the carrier. The introduction of the special aircraft was partly prompted by a social media post KLM published on King’s Day 2015. At the time, KLM’s followers were presented with a picture of an orange aircraft, along with the question: “Should we colour orange next year on King’s Day?". A year later the aircraft had become a reality. The aircraft is being used for commercial puroposes and on special occasions like the return of Dutch athletes after the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

An updated design was rolled out with the repaint of the aircraft in November 2023.

Seven aircraft sported this decal for the last celebration before a century of flight at KLM. The MD-11 frame was the one which operated the last ever passenger commercial flight of the type in October 2014. The stickers were added on the port side only.

During mid-2002 a marketing campaign promoting online sales appeared on a few KLM aircraft. In 2003 while the new scheme was unveiled most aircraft wearing the old scheme gained the internet titles. Swans were commonly used in KLM commercials in the early 2000s.
