Merry Christmas   all 5 MD-80 Compass 1992-93 The first Compass Airlines low-fare start-up (flying A300s and an A310) had been grounded just before Christmas 1991 by the Australian CAA. Although mostly un-related, a second Compass Airlines airline was launched in 1992 with 5 MD-80s. It is unknown if it was a wink to the highly conservative authorities, but for Christmas 1992 all five aircraft received Santa's hats. Compass would fold just a few months later in spring 1993.
