This new ATR for the Polynesian airline celebrates designs and patterns from the Tuamotus, an archipelago in the northern & eastern part of French Polynesia, it is the work of artist Viri Taimana. Teraiefa means the sky appearing in the local dialect; design patterns include the checkerboard tatoo worn by people from these islands.

This aircraft has stickers of 6 different rare birds found in the different French Polynesia archipelagos, including the famous Manu 'Ura (Kuhl's lorikeet). This was done in partnership with a local conservation association.

Air Tahiti further expanded its Tatoo liveries in 2023 with the delivery of a brand new ATR-72. This time the scheme celebrates design and patterns from the Marquesas Islands, an archipelago in the northern part of French Polynesia. Atanua means rainbow; design patterns include references to the life matrix, clairvoyance and deity.

This ATR operated for Air Tahiti on a 18-month lease and received tatoo decals over its albino scheme after arrival in Tahiti. The patterns on this aircraft were similar to the ones applied on sistership F-ORVR and depict Austral Islands tatoos. In 2022 similar tatoo decals were added to F-HGNU while on lease from Amelia International; note the latter never carried a local name.

In February 2018 Air Tahiti celebrated a legacy of 60 years, with predecessors RAI & Air Polynésie tracing the airline history back to 1958. On the occasion a third ATR gained special gold tatoos; this time the design includes specific graphics originating from the Austral Islands, the southernmost group of islands in French Polynesia. The aircraft was christened in the island of Rurutu in the Austral archipelago, its name means "Holy cloud" and the tatoo includes the local motifs for dancers and the sun. In 2019 the 60 Years titles were replaced by tatoos.

In October 2017, as the airline celebrated 30 years of partnership with ATR, two Tatau (tatoo) design liveries were applied to the airline's last ATR-72-600. These two first designs have their origins in Tahitian culture and were created by students of the French Polynesia School of Fine Arts. This particular scheme includs linear graphics with symbols representing the sun, people holding hands (the "link"), the islands and their reflection in the sea.
