Jinsha   金沙号

Elk chasing the Golden Sun Bird of Hibiscus City to trace Jinsha
麋鹿逐金轮,蓉城溯金沙
B-652G
2022-25

Jinsha (literally Golden Sands) is an archaeological site located in Chengdu. This livery was the result of a design competition held by the airline and the museum of the Jinsha site in 2021. The winning design merged graphic elements of ancient China (Jinsha was the capital of the Shu state) and present day Chengdu. Deer antlers were found on the Jinsha site and were used in the Shu people's sacrificial ceremonies, hence the deers in the scheme.

Chengdu was known before as the "Hibiscus City" (Rongcheng, 蓉城), from the hibiscus which King Mengchang of the Later Shu ordered planted upon the city wall during the 10th century. The Golden Sun Bird is an artefact unearthed in Jinsha in 2001, now a symbol of Chengdu and the logo of the airline.
