Exeggutor (Nassy in Japanese) is a grass/psychic-type Pokémon that appeared in the Pokémon short, Pikachu's Rescue Adventure. Its palm tree shape made it become Miyazaki Prefecture's "official" pokemon, with the prefecture known for its warm climate and Phoenix palm trees. Alolan Nassy (Exeggutor) is the regional (Alolan) form of the character, with a thinner and much longer neck looking much more like a palm tree. Nassy could be seen on the starboard side while Alolan Nassy was shown on the port side. Hinata (lit. sunny place) Miyazaki is the name of the local initiative to bolster tourism to the area.

This livery was the fifth and last mask scheme to appear on a Garuda aircraft; the design is the result of a competition entitled 'Fly Your Design Through The Sky' throughout October 2020. The theme for this competition was "Building the Future of the Nation Together", and Johanna Angelia Christian won the first prize with this artwork based on Batik Tambal motives from Yogyakarta.

A new JAL Disney jet appeared in late 2020 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Fantasia, an animated film created by Walt Disney in 1940. The film consists of eight animated segments set to pieces of classical music where -among others- Mickey Mouse casts magic on a broom and manipulates stars and clouds in the night sky.
The scheme was different on the two sides of the aircraft and was unveiled on November 18, the "birthday" of Mickey & Minnie Mouse. The first flight of the aircraft in the special scheme was a sightseeing charter flight operating from Haneda as JL1940 and drawing a large "8" celebrating the 80th anniversary of the movie.
