Merry Christmas

SAS Christmas Flight   SAS Julefly
LN-TUD
SAS
2015-16

Juleflyet "Christmas Plane" is an aid operation run by SAS employees since 1985, with former captain Karsten Midtun at its head. Throughout the year, employees collect items and contributions to help children in orphanages and disadvantaged families in Eastern Europe. The charity has helped children in Poland, Estonia and Latvia but since 2003 it is focusing on Estonia and particularly on the forsaken Kopli district in Tallinn suburbs. Once a year an aircraft flies to Tallinn with the aid and a Christmas party is held. 2015 marked the first time SAS applied special decals for the occasion.

Norway's Most Punctual Person

Norges Punktligste Person
LN-RCY
SAS
2012

As the airline had been elected the "most punctual airline in Norway" for three years in a row in 2012, SAS held a contest to find the "most punctual person" in Norway. The contest was an online game lasting 14 days during which you had to click on a clock the closest you could to 7 SAS flight's scheduled arrival time per day. The winner, Kristoffer B., had his portrait displayed on the tail in a manner that recalls competitor Norwegian's famous tails. In addition he won 100,000 kroner worth of free tickets with SAS.
