Sayram Lake or historically the "Clean Sea" is a freshwater lake in the northern Tianshan Mountains at Börtala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in Xinjiang Province close to the border with Kazakhstan. The name Sayram originally derives from Kazakh, meaning "blessing". Sayram Lake is one of Xinjiang’s major tourist destinations and was designated a AAAAA National Scenic Area in 2021. Urumqi Air serves the nearby Bole Alashankou Airport with service from Zhengzhou via Lanzhou since 2025.

HeTian (or Hotan) prefecture and city are located in the West of China's Xinjiang province. These titles mark the airline's commitment to strengthen airlinks to the airports of the prefecture: Hotan Airport (HTN) and Yutian Wanfang Airport (YTW). Khotan (another spelling for Hotan/He Tian) refers both to the current oasis city as well as the ancient Kingdom of Khotan.
The Xinjiang Hotan rose is a symbol of the prefecture and grows in the oasis on the southern edge of the Taklimakan Desert, with an average elevation of 3,000 meters. The flower is also the most commonly used ingredient in Uyghur medicine and has contributed recently in increasing the income of people in Xinjiang.

The first special scheme at Urumqi Air features large decals of the scenic Kanas Lake in the Altai mountain range. The livery was prepared in cooperation with the Xinjiang Kanas Scenic Area bureau and features a turquoise variation of the airline's basic scheme to match the lake waters. The aircraft operated the airline's maiden Urumqi-Kanas flight on September 15, 2020.
