China Southern is a partner of the HIIFF, the Hainan Island International Film Festival, first held in 2018 and celebrating its 5th anniversary in late 2023.
B-1625 is one of 37 A320/321s in service with the Hainan Branch of the airline (as of late 2023). The branch was the 4th of China Southern when it was launched in 1992 in Haikou. In 2002 it merged with the Sanya branch of China Northern during the reorganization of the civil aviation at that time.

This fully-painted special scheme uses the multicolour theme of the 2023 20th China-ASEAN Expo to be held in Nanning, Guangxi; the "Hehemeimei" event mascots are shown as are silhouettes of all ASEAN countries landmarks and national flowers. Note titles are different on the two sides. CZ is an official partner of the event.
China Southern Guangxi Branch was established in 1993 and operates 20 737s (2 -700 and 18 -800) from the province (mostly Nanning and Guilin) as of mid-2023.

This is the first special livery for the Xinjiang branch of China Southern, which operates 53 737 and 6 787 as of July 2023. HeTian (or Hotan) prefecture and city are located in the West of China's Xinjiang province; they are at the heart of a revitalization campaign targeting rural Xinjiang. Note Urumqi Air also has two aircraft dedicated to the same program (B-5407 & B-5429).
The colourful scheme represents singing and dancing people celebrating the good harvest with desert poplars and camels in typical warm Western China background colours. Just aft of the wing, a group of students is represented during a flag-raising ceremony in a newly-built school. A selection of fruits can be seen on the back of the fuselage, including red dates, walnuts, grapes, melons and pomegranates.

Kweichow Moutai (or Guizhou Maotai Group) is a partly state-owned Chinese group specializing in the production and sales of Maotai liquor, which is a brand of baiju made in the town of Maotai, Guizhou Province. Note the A350 wore additional promotional titles on the back of the fuselage.

This colourful scheme is the result of a partnership between CZ and the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau. Pink, purple and blue are the theme colours of the Consumer Fair which took place in Hainan in April 2022. The two sides are different and display the mascots of the event, namely Hainan gibbons "Yuanyuan" and "Xiaoxiao".

This special livery was unveiled 300 days before the opening of the 46th Shanghai Skills Competition, for which China Southern acts as the official carrier. The core pattern of the scheme is the Mortise and tenon which usually connect two pieces of wood or of materials and symbolize the spirit of craftsmen. The "Nengneng" and "Qiaoqiao" mascots representing craftsmen are visible on the two sides of the aircraft (their position being reversed). Also visible are the urban landmarks of the Tianjin-Hebei region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

China Southern Zhuhai Airlines is the standalone branch of the airline based in Zhuhai; it was founded in 1995 and operates a fleet of 16 737-800 as of September 2021. This special livery is the first of two promoting the city of Zhuhai.
The scheme features the iconic Riyuebei Opera House and the silhouettes of aircraft performing at the China International Aerospace Expo held at Zhuhai airport every even year. The aircraft was part of the static display of the 13th China Air Show taking place just days after the scheme's unveiling. The green scenery and seaside of the surroundings of Zhuhai complete this "youthful and energetic" image of the city.

This special scheme is the result of cooperation between the China Southern branch operating 30 737s from the Henan province and the local tourism office; it was unveiled in the capital Zhengzhou. The scheme is made of auspicious pink peony flowers in their traditionnal "Ruyi" shape, a symbol of Zhongyuan, literally the Central Plains. The pink curve symbolizes the Yellow River which crosses the region. Special markings are also visible inside the cabin and a special video promoting Henan tourism is played inside the plane.
China Southern Henan Airlines is a descendant of long-gone Zhongyuan Airlines (1986-2000) and the China Southern Henan Branch (1992-2013); it officially started its own operations in Sep. 2014, although operating under the CZ/CSN codes.

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a trade fair held in Shanghai every year in Automn since 2018. The expo is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government and "has the purpose of replacing US products with products from other countries". ; as for B-2002 at China Eastern, B-5940 is referred to as the "Jinbo" (进博) aircraft, Jinbo being a short name for the CIIE. The livery features Jinbao (进宝), the panda mascot of the event as well as auspicious four-leaf clovers.

Wild lychee trees can be found as one of the dominant tree species of tropical rainforests in southern China provinces such as Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan. The recorded history of lychee cultivation spans more than 2,000 years and Guangdong, the home province of China Southern, is a major contributor to the Chinese production.

This special livery was the first applied by inkjet painting process in China; it shows typical Guizhou hill scenery as well as two touristic hotspots: Huangguoshu Waterfall and Mushroom Rock (close to sacred Fanjingshan). Blue and white are the traditional colours of Batik of Guizhou ethnic minorities, and appropriately match China Southern's corporate colours. B-6068 (standard grey engine cowlings) was unveiled in the scheme in January 2019 with B-6069 (white engine cowlings with Guizhou titles) joining in April of the same year.
Guizhou Airlines was established in 1991 in the province of the same name with the help of China Southern and was integrated into the latter in 1998. As of 2019 it operates 20 B737-800 from the province's capital city Guiyang.
