TAP added 4 A330-300s in the late 2010s as a stopgap before the delivery of the first A330neos. One of the aircraft involved, CS-TOV, a former SIA airframe, was unveiled in a 1955 retro scheme. The livery displayed was first used on Lockheed Super Constellations in 1955 and served through the 1970s. The retro scheme returned to the fleet with the delivery of (non-LR) A321neo CS-TJR on October 27, 2020. The aircraft both used the "Portugal" name, which was first used by TAP's very first Jumbo in 1972 (CS-TJA).
