The livery was launched by the Brunei Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism and celebrates the very best of Brunei tourism: the port side displays views of capital city Bandar Seri Begawan including resorts and a golf course. The starboard side depicts the sultanate's rich underwater world as well as views of the Ulu Temburong National Park and its canopy walkways.

The Japan Airlines Championship is a new professional golf tournament in Japan on the PGA Tour Champions which took place for the first time in 2017 with JAL as the main sponsor. The event took place in September 2017 at the Narita Golf Course.
