LH celebrated its 100th anniversary in a bold way, introducing no less than 7 aircraft in a dark blue scheme with a giant crane logo. The first aircraft to arrive in Germany in this scheme was 787 D-ABPU which landed in Frankfurt on December 23, 2025.

In 2016 ANA launched a design competition to find a unique livery for its 3 upcoming A380 which will be assigned to the Narita-Honolulu route. The work of Chihiro Masuoka "Parent and child of Honu (sea turtle) relaxing in the blue sea of Hawaii" was chosen in 2017 with three colour variants of its sea turtle family design to be applied on the jets.
This is the blue one, named "Sky". The Green sea turtle, known as Honu in Hawaiian language, is regarded as a symbol of good luck and longevity in the islands. The first Flying Honu was rolled out of the paint hangar in Hamburg-Finkenwerder on December 13, 2018. The aircraft was delivered to ANA on March 14, 2019, entering revenue service in May.

The first aircraft of ANA's "Star Wars Project" aiming at raising brand awareness on a global scale was unveiled on September 12, 2015 at the Boeing factories in Everett (WA). The cabin of the aircraft is specially fitted with special R2-D2 headrest covers and the paper cups are unique to the aircraft as well. R2-D2 is a small astromech droid from the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. Note the two sides of the fuselage are different.

"Rackam" was unveiled on March 13, 2015, marking a milestone in the brand efforts of Brussels Airlinesas a result of a the partnership between the airline and the Moulinsart company managing the rights of famous Belgian cartoon character Tintin. The aircraft' shark appearance refers to the Red Rackham's Treasure comics album, where Tintin and Captain Haddock launch an expedition to the Caribbean to locate the treasure of the pirate Red Rackham, who had attacked Unicorn, the ship captained by the ancestor of Captain Haddock.
The cabin of the aircraft is decorated with Rackham Le Rouge graphics and the album is available to read inside the plane. The move proved to be very successful and led the airline to start a series of liveries now referred to as the Belgian Icons. In 2021 the aircraft was resprayed with the signature of Hergé.

TF-FIU was unveiled in December 2014 with this proud display of Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights over Icelandic mountains, a phenomenon that can only be seen when getting closer to the poles in Winter. The scheme was part of the airline's #MyStopover campaign aimed at promoting stopover tourism in Iceland for US & Canadian travellers going to Europe via the KEF hub or vice versa. The aircraft was known as Hekla before the special scheme as Icelandair aircraft are named after Icelandic volcanoes, and logically became Hekla Aurora afterwards.
Although it might seem like giant decals of mountain scenery were applied to the belly of plane, the whole aircraft was actually painted by a team of skilled airbrush artists specially hired for the occasion. Each of the airbrush artists was allocated a portion of the plane and reproduced the pattern commisioned by Icelandair. A unique LED ceiling has also been installed onboard the plane to allow mood lighting in the colors of the aurora borealis.
The aircraft was then used for different PR events including a low pass over Hallgrimskirkja church in downtown Reykjavik for the city’s annual Winter Lights Festival. Although there was always uncertainty in the schedule of a particular airframe, you could request to fly onboard Hekla Aurora on the airline's dedicated webpage.

A total of 6 aircraft (1x B77W, 2x A320, 1x AT72, 2x B190) were painted in the New Zealand National Rugby Team colours. The fern is the team's emblem. Note only the two A320s had the "Crazy About Rugby" titles.Starting 2014 the airline changed its corporate identity and the fern became a standard part of the standard livery, with one aircraft in each subfleet painted in an all-black variation (see separately).

The Formula 1 made its debut in the United Arab Emirates in 2009 at the Abu Dhabi Yas Marina Circuit built for the occasion. As the state airline Etihad was a logical sponsor choice and the partnership has continued since. The titles included the current year and were changed accordingly. This aircraft made a low-pass on the occasion of the first Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 1, 2009.
This special -on the flagship of the airline at the time- was unveiled at Airbus' Hamburg Finkenwerder plant in early 2009 and helped Etihad raise the global awareness of its relatively young brand.

The arrival of two new MD80 at Windrose was the occasion for CEO Vladimir Kamenchuk to adapt Ukrainian folk stylistics he cherishes on airliners. The airline worked with sketches of Kiev artist Svetlana Lopukhova with the purpose of popularizing Ukrainian culture abroad.
 The two planes were decorated with a mix of colourful modern patterns and illustrations of national folklore. The front part of the starboard side of this plane was composed of an orange horse dressed with apple patterns and an Ukrainian cart with Cossacks in traditional clothing. Note the storks (the national bird of Ukraine).

The very first Hello Kitty scheme for Eva Air was unveiled in Taipei on October 20, 2005. The two sides of the fuselage showed large decals of different characters of Japanese company Sanrio, including the very popular Hello Kitty. Interior fittings and features onboard this specific aircraft were also modified accordingly. The plane was used primarily on routes to Japan, but later also flew a wider range of Asian routes. The concept was successful but the partnership came to an end in 2009. These special liveries were revived in 2011 with a second batch of no less than 7 Hello Kitty-themed planes.

The overhead bins inside the aircraft were decorated with different species of edible Alaska seafood. The author of the fish artwork, Mark Boyle, signed the livery just below the registration.
