Davao City is the most populous city on the island of Mindanao. The special scheme featured the silhouette of Mount Apo. Durian is known as Davao’s signature fruit and was depicted at the front of the fuselage, together with other fruits at the rear of the plane. The head of a Philippine Eagle, the national bird, was also depicted. The largest numbers of eagles reside on Mindanao.

Special decals were added on this aircraft in December 1999 just after the airline's first anniversary. Besides Hokkaido tourism campaign (see separately), the logo of 4 sponsors was added above the window line. The decals were amended rather frequently with brands chasing other ones; however Japanese snack food maker Calbee, the Shiroi Koibito cookie of confectionery maker Ishiya and telecom provider DoCoMo remained visible in a way or another until the cookie took most of the room in December 2003 (see separately). Other decals included "Kirara 397" and "Hoshimo Yune", two varieties of rice produced in Hokkaido and developped by local agriculture authorities (and worn until 2000). Other decals also promoted Jalan, an internet news portal, the Sapporo Dome stadium and SSAWS Skidome, an indoor ski slope in Funabashi (Chiba).

Air Do quickly concluded an agreement with the Hokkaido tourism board, as a new domestic carrier trying to take advantage of the deregulated market. Note JA98AD was the only aircraft to wear the additional small titles; they were removed after just a few months. JA98AD also sported additional sponsor decals (see separately).

Aerolíneas Centrales de Colombia (ACES) was once the proud airline of the city of Medellín, Colombia. Fernando Botero (born 1932) is a figurative artist and sculptor from Medellín. His signature was displayed on the fuselage and the aircraft was named "Medellín Ciudad de Botero" in his honour. The special decal was kept after the airline became part of the Allianza Summa alliance with Avianca & SAM. It is also to be noted that ACES was founded in 1971 by Colombian entrepreneurs that included another Mr. Botero.

Cebu-Manila was the airline's very first route at the start of operations on March 16, 1996. This scheme celebrated Cebu City, the most populous city in the Visayas Islands. Cebu has a long history of guitar making due to its traditional industry. Most of the guitar manufacturers are family-owned enterprises passed on from one generation to another. Mangos were visible on the front part of the plane, with the underwater world depicted on the rear part.

As part of New York City's Millennium celebrations, German-born American illustrator and graphic artist Peter Max designed a very special livery for one of the 777 of Newark-based Continental. The scheme was unveiled on November 15, 1999 in Newark Airport. The two sides were different and the livery was so popular it was kept until early 2008.
