In late 2021 Etihad followed Emirates in celebrating the UAE's 50th anniversary. On December 2, 1971, six of the emirates (Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain) agreed to enter into a union called the United Arab Emirates. A6-XWB was also in the static display of the 2021 Dubai Airshow.
