In late 1999 Hawaiian leased 3 DC-10 from Continental Airlines. The aircraft kept the basic CO scheme and while one of them was painted with standard Hawaiian titles, the other two gained additional 70 Years titles.

This ex-ANA Tristar was directly painted with SunTrips of California tail markings instead of the standard Hawaiian logo when delivered to the US airline. The airframe was primarily used on flights chartered by the tour operator. SunTrips (as well as Sunquest) would later be part of Airtours' North American Leisure Group (NALG).
