VH-OJA was the first -400 delivered to Qantas in August 1989. Instead of being delivered directly to Australia, the aircraft was positionned to London and broke the record of distance for a passenger flight, reaching Sydney in 20 hours and 9 minutes (for a total of 9,633nm).
