Between January 1995 and late 1997 Swissair and Austrian intensified their partnership on the hub-to-hub route linking Vienna & Zurich. A MD-81 was specifically dedicated to the route at each airline, with a similar business-heavy seating arrangement and frequencies of 7 daily roundtrips. Servus Wien on the Swissair MD81 responded to Grüezi Zürich on the Austrian aircraft (Servus is the usual salutation used in Vienna while Grüezi is the equivalent for Zürich).
