On June 4, 1994 JAL unveiled JA8111, the first "Super Resort Express" (SRE) 747 with Tropical colours, flowers and birds. It mostly flew on the route to Honolulu; 4 Classic 747 were later joined by 3 DC-10 of affiliate JAZ Japan Air Charter in the Purple/Lilac variation of the livery.

Note JA8106 was an early-built -200 series with only 3 windows on the upper deck. Note the Japan Air Charter titles had already been replaced by JALways on the DC10 picture when the JAL subsidiary was rebranded, later gaining billboard JALways titles instead of JAZ ones.
