To celebrate its 25 years in 1996, Southwest had this aircraft delivered in a bare metal 'chrome' livery. The colour was chosen so as to represent the traditional idea of giving silver for a 25th wedding anniversary. This aircraft also featured silver seats. For easier maintenance it was painted in 1999 in a silver metallic paint, with thin red stripes instead of the original white ones. In 2005 it was repainted again, this time in a light grey livery, with thicker white stripes, before gaining standard canyon blue colours in 2009 as it was found not to match the airline's bright personality anymore. The name was kept visible below the cockpit windows though.
